Description: The Study Area Tracklines layer delineates the routes, or cruises, of ocean vessels and/or related equipment that perform survey activities for or sponsored by the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM). Tracklines include one or more of bathymetry, side-scan, and seismic surveys. Tracklines are typically created by collecting GPS data on devices installed on the vessels and/or survey equipment. This dataset is a collection of tracklines representing multiple surveys and time periods. The intent is to update the dataset as data is received. Attribution consists of cruise and track IDs, the type of data collected, equipment used, and links to the data imagery. Revisions to the data will occur regularly.
